| 1. How does it work? | |
| ICEY WRAP® works on the principal of evaporation but also provides a quicker and cooler recharge to the neck wrap by adding a little ice to the ice chamber to keep you cooler in warmer climates. There is no need to use a refrigerator for cooling. Ice is available around almost all outdoor activities by way of an ice chest, food vendor or even the soda fountain at local fast food chains and convenience stores. Once wet, ICEY WRAP® may retain moisture for up to three days. | |
| 2. What types of fabric are used? | |
| Our fabrics are either 100% cotton or usually a combination of polyester & cotton, depending upon the individual fabric design. The fabric material is identified with each sample on the Products page. | |
| 3. What type of water-absorbing medium are used? | |
| We use non-toxic polyacrylamide water absorbing crystals. Our crystals are provided by by one of the few, if not the only FDA registered facility of polyacrylamide crystals in the USA. | |
| 4. What kind of activities can ICEY WRAP® be used for? | |
| ICEY WRAP® can be used during many physical activities in the heat and works best at temperatures above 105º degrees. Activities can include working on a construction site, working inside attics, boating, golfing, biking, jogging, landscape work, watching an outdoor sporting event or just going out for a walk in the heat. | |
| 5. How do you use ICEY WRAP®? | |
|
For quick cold cooling, simply unfold ICEY WRAP® and extend to it’s full length with the velcro ice chamber closure at the top. Evenly divide the water absorbing crystals as best as possible, ½ to the left end and ½ to the right end of the ICEY WRAP®. Next open up the velcro strip and insert ice cubes or chunks of crushed ice into both sides of the ice chamber until ice loosely fills the ICEY WRAP®. Close the velcro seal and place around your neck in a comfortable position. You may then put both of the loose ends together and weave them through the slide clip to snug up the
ICEY WRAP® around your neck. During the initial melting of the ice, you may get a little wet as the water is slowly absorbed into the crystals. The hotter the weather, the dryer you will stay. |
|
| 6. How do you care for an ICEY WRAP® ? | |
| Simply handwash your ICEY WRAP® using only a little of mild dish soap in cold fresh water. Rinse thoroughly but quickly and hang to dry. Once it is completely dry you may store it in the open air inside your home but do not store inside of an airtight or sealed bag or container. | |
| 7. Are there any conditions to be aware of? | |
|
As with all products, one must be careful to read instruction labels and follow directions. Common sense usually dictates safety as well. We do recommend tying the loose ends close to your body when operating machinery and consulting your doctor before use if you have any heat, cold or heart related conditions you are being treated for as all people react differently to different things or conditions. |
|
| 8. Can ICEY WRAP®be used as a traditional cooling neck wrap? | |
|
Yes it can. It’s two coolers in one! If it’s not excessively hot outside, a simple 5 to 10 minute soak in water will give you the same effect as a typical cool tie or neck wrap. Water quality plays a role in the absorption of the crystals as well. The more pure the water, the more volume of water can be retained by the crystals. When the outside temperatures climb, that’s when ICEY WRAP® gives you the ability to periodically add ice for colder cooling without the need for a refrigerator or freezer. There’s ice available most anywhere where outdoor activities take place in the heat. |
|
| 9. Can someone order ICEY WRAP® specially-designed fabric for say, company events or promotions? | |
|
Sure, we can do special orders but the cost is usually a little higher due to smaller production quantities. |
